Brief 📝

The goal of this project was to create a landing page for the student clubs and events platform (Hubs). The landing page aims to provide an engaging entry point for users, showcase the platform’s features, and guide users to download the app from various app stores.

My Role 👩🏻‍🎨

As the product designer, I was responsible for:

  • Designing the entire landing page experience

  • Implementing the design using the Framer platform, which enables no-code web design

Process 👩🏻‍💻

  1. Research and Discovery

    • Conducted stakeholder interviews with product mangers to identify key features and user expectations for the landing page

    • Analyzed competitor landing pages to benchmark design standards and identify unique value propositions

  2. Ideation and Wireframing

    • Developed a sitemap to organize information

    • Created wireframes to outline the basic layout and structure of the landing page

    • Developed user personas to ensure the design meets the needs of both primary user groups: club leaders and event seekers

  3. Design and Prototyping

    • Designed high-fidelity mockups using Figma

    • Implemented a ready-to-go prototype in Framer

  4. Testing and Iteration

    • Share it with a group of students and club leaders to identify any usability issues and gather insights

    • Iterated on the design based on user feedback, making adjustments to improve navigation, clarity, and visual appeal.

  5. Implementation and Refinement

    • Implemented the final retouches in Framer

    • Collaborated with the development team to publish the landing page within thier domain

Challenges and Solutions 🥊

  1. Challenge: Clear Communication of Dual Functions

    • Solution: Designed distinct sections for club leaders and event seekers, ensuring that features are clear to both types of users the platform serves and that there are no conflicts while navigating the landing page

  2. Challenge: Encouraging App Downloads

    • Solution: Included clear and prominent call-to-action buttons for app downloads, with links to various app stores and information on the app’s benefits

Outcome and Impact 🏆

  • Positive User Engagement: The landing page achieved high engagement rates, with increased traffic and user interaction.

  • Increased App Downloads: Notable increase in app downloads, driven by the effective call-to-action elements on the landing page.
